And God Knows Them Each!
I wanted to try to get some great moon shots with my new x2 Teleconverter tonight. I headed to the countryside of Shawnee County to get said shot. I probably should have check the moonrise time first…. No moon
I changed gears and decided to get some star shots. Since I live in the city, these are rare. I drove to the Wakarusa area on a very very dark country road and setup shot for a bit.
I discovered that 800mm of focal¬†length was useless on stars. I changed to my trusty 50mm prime and was ready to roll.¬†I also learned that 30 second shutters don’t work great, the starts are moving too fast!¬†¬†I was shocked to see how much they moved. I had to increase ISO speed, lower the¬†aperture, and go up to a 6 second shutter (from a 30 second)
Every time I get to spend time gazing at the amazing galaxy that we call home, I am reminded just how infinite and unlimited God is.
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. – Isaiah 40:26 (NIV 84′)
He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. – Psalm 147:4 (ESV)
